Land approved for a 380-home subdivision on the Christchurch Port Hills is being sold and the new owner is ready to start building sections.
Christchurch businessman Hamish Wright is finalising his purchase of the 142-hectare Cashmere Estates site, between Westmorland and Cashmere in front of the new Christchurch Adventure Park.
The subdivision will be one of the largest housing developments on the Port Hills. Wright said he would develop sections in seven stages, starting near Cracroft, and machinery was on-site now ready to begin earthworks.
Wright said last month’s fires had not affected the project, and had only scorched some grass on the upper slopes. The fires damaged the adventure park above, which is on land leased from the McVicar family.
